Reclaim Your 20/20 Naturally
30th September 2011 by Cataracts No CommentsIt was late one night while out for the evening and I first realised that my vision was not as good as it used to be! The satnav had just failed and left us reliant on the good old A to Z. I was sure that with it we could easily find our way so I dug it out of the glove box. To my surprise the words were just a blurr! I looked and looked at the maps but the harder I tried the worse it got, I just couldn’t make out a single street name. It had just crept up on me and I hadn’t noticed my vision getting worst, in the low light the tiny print was just a blurr. My vision had reached a stage where it so poor that I was useless as a navigator. We pulled and and I took the wheel and he took the map.
My vision was obviously not as good as I had though and I was really surprised. I had to accept that my age was creeping up on me. A few months went by and it stayed much the same but then slowly it got worse and I realised that should consided getting glasses. I was not quite ready to give up yet so I opted for a cheap pair of reading glasses just to help with the really small print. I started to use them more and more so I decided to buy several pairs so ther was always a pair near by. Soon I found my glasses were never far away. My vision without glasses had reached crisis point and I was now wearing my full time on my head so that I always knew exactly where they were. I was beginning to put off tasks because I was finding it hard to concentrate and I hated wearing my glasses! At this point I did visit the optician and of course they confirmed as predicted that my vision without glasses had deteriorated and they were ready to supply me with some pretty expensive prescription glasses. I was not quite ready yet to accept that this was the only option. I had noticed that if I had worn reading glasses for an extended period that when I took them off my eyesight took a while to adjust. This rang alarm bells as I was convinced that using glasses to aid my vision was actually making it worse. I also noticed that occasional ,particularly when I blink repeatedly, I had brief moments of complete clarity which lead me to think that my eyes did still work just fine but perhaps they had forgotten how to focus properly. I wasn’t ready to give in yet so I started loking for an alternative in the hope that I could improve my vision. It didn’t take long searchijng on the internet I came across The Vision Without Glasses program and I haven’t looked back.
